Posted December 21, 20159 yr Hi everyone I have just bought a1980 dt175 wiring loom for my 1982 dt175 on the 1980 loom all I can see is different is the extra wire out of the magneto and the Cdi unit which is the red wire if I just discard the extra wire will that be ok and if anyone knows anything different would be grateful on their input
December 21, 20159 yr Moderator Why discard? You mean disregard and just leave it unconnected. Otherwise yep same ol yamaha. Aint broke etc,etc.

December 22, 20159 yr Moderator Yep, only difference. You might find some tiny variation, the voltage regulator moved (79 to 80 not far though) otherwise yep, same. BTW its not a 1980 loom if its 7 wire, it will be a 78/9 loom.

February 9, 20169 yr Moderator Possibly. Some 125 were cdi. Some had points. Without you having done an introduction (HINT) in the new members area. Were guessing. Prob find it will come ready for the 7wire cdi and just use what you need.
