Hi all

The DT125X 2005 i have has hazard warning lights, I have a slight problem when switched on they flash once then nothing the indicator light on the dash stays on.

My indicators when switched on left and right work fine.

I can only find one indicator relay on the drawings.

Does anyone have any ideas ??

Also as they are fitted are they part of the M.O.T ??

Any advice would be very welcome.

cheers

Are your indicators/bulbs standard? I had a similar problem when I upgraded my indicators, and the new ones exceeded the wattage of the stock relay.

I think they are standard, i think ba9 type not LED or the likes

thanks by the way

forgot thanks

Yes but you need to check the wattage of all the bulbs, and compare it to that of the relay.

I can assure you Nige they are not part of the MOT, only indicators are but not hazards.

The indicators work as they should

The relay works too

I'd try cleaning the switch contacts, it's the only thing unique to hazard warning lights, maybe even a spray of WD40 will do it?

hi all

i have had a look at my rear bulbs which are aftermarket and i cant see the wattage, presuming they are over ten watts and the relay cant cope i have had a look on ebay for a different relay and found these. see link

My standard relay is FE218BH rated a 10w x 4 for the hazard lights 10w x 2 for indicators

Could i use the FE246BH rated at 21w x 4 for hazard lights 21w, 23w and 27w x 2 for indicators

what i want to know is for £6 second hand will this solve my problem or cause other problems with indicator speed ect

thanks in advance

That should be fine.

Funnily enough it's only the wattage that affects the speed lol

Huh. Power is a product of resistance, current and voltage. So all 3 affect the speed....

True. But a change in wattage affects the current and resistance therefore the speed.

I probably didn't word that brilliantly but hey ho
