JIm Quinn
Just put VP110 ethanol free LEADED race fuel in my 2001 FZ1, how bad is this ?
clarke
Probably not good! Depends how much you put in. Might need to drain it.
pilninggas
I wouldn't worry unless it has a catalyser and your emission check includes catalyst function.Leaded fuel is only an issue with catalytic converters, as it coats the matrix and reduces efficiency. I probably wouldn't worry.
Moderator Cynic Posted October 1, 2015 Moderator Share Posted October 1, 2015 Waste of time, the lead is an additive in the fuel preventing pre ignition, in a race fuel this lets you run more ignition advance to generate more power/compensate for the higher octane rating (which I would expect is 110).You may well have gone quite a way past your ignition sweet spot and she may not run very well on it esp under load. DutchFJ1200
I was always lead to believe that lead in petrol is good for an engine. (excuse the pun)
