Has anyone that has a 2015 R1 experienced oil leaks? Went back to the dealer and they are playing dumb I can see bolts on bottom of engine that seep on the body work on both sides.

Thanks

It helps if you say HELLO in the new members section, folks are wary of one hit wonders. And it's just polite to say hello BEFORE you ask advice from strangers don't you think? As to your question, have you changed the copper washer on the drain bolt when you last serviced it or did you just bung the old one back on? If it's the actual side cases of the engine leaking then you have to replace the gaskets as if they are leaking then they are fucked and need to be replaced, a photo really helps with something like this as it's near impossible to "guess" where you mean the leak is coming from. Anyway Welcome to the YOC and hope you stick around as new folks are always welcome to join in :D

Are you sure it is oil - my FZ1 looks like it is leaking oil when the chain lube gets good and hot and starts to drip from below the gearbox.

If it is definitely is leaking you need to speak to Yamaha UK in Weybridge and tell them the dealer ain't playing ball - record all discussions if possible and keep a timeline of things. If you knowingly ride a motorcycle which is leaking oil and cause further damage the warranty issue can get choppy; throw the ball into their court post-haste.

Oh yeah, do go and introduce yourself properly - we don't mind helping, but we expect introductions and some commentary on the events as they progress.

If it is leaking then it's under warranty, Yamaha have to fix. Try another dealer if yours is rubbish  (and tell Yamaha about the bad service)

Sadly this looks like another antisocial forum-ponce who rocks-up and asks a question without so much as a by your leave, then never comes back to finish the story or respond to help given. Half of the threads on this forum seem to suffer from this nonsense.

Can't mods put a block on idiots starting new threads anywhere but in the new members area?

I didn't even look at the date of the replies, just saw it was an unread thread... hopefully it got sorted.

A few forums I'vebeen on only let you post in certain sections until you have a certain number of posts.
