Naren Prasad Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Hi all, first time posting here.I recently bought a YB100 (1980). It is mechanically sound but needs a bit of TLC. In particular, I noticed that the indicator lights do not flash - instead, they just stay lit like a headlight would. I can turn them individually on and off with the switch as normal but they do not flash. All other electrics seem to work fine.In the Haynes manual for the YB100 it mentions a part called the flasher relay, which is supposed to make the indicators flash. So today I took the left hand cover off the bike to see if the relay needed cleaning or replacing. When I looked at the electronics, I found that there appeared to be no flasher relay at all! Photos here: http://imgur.com/a/q3zgH#0My question is, which flasher relay do I use and how do I fit it in? When I google 'Yamaha YB100 flasher relay' I get two different kinds. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=yamaha+yb100+flasher+relay&es_sm=93&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAWoVChMI0ZWu3uSyxwIVrhfbCh1XdwPo&biw=1600&bih=735#imgrc=_One is silver and black with two pins, the other is silver with two connectors wired to it.I don't know which one to buy! I know where it goes, but I don't know where to actually connect it. Anyone have any ideas? Also, in the photos of my bikes' electrics there is a loose connector, connected to a light green wire. Is this for the flasher relay??CheersNaren
