Hi All.

I am new to this site, but am a member of the GTS1000 owner's club forum, and was a member of the UK BT1100 forum until it closed in January this year. I have tried the German BT1100 forum, but I have several issues with access and language so have given up on it.

About me. I am approaching 60 years young, and have been riding continuously since just after my 17th birthday, and have never been without a bike. In fact, I reckon I have owned well over 1000 bikes in my 40-odd years, but that includes many, many years as a motorcycle mechanic, lecturer and "private trader". I currently own a selection of old British bikes, and a few modern Japanese bikes. For my personal use, I like things that are different or unusual, and Yamaha seem to be the Japanese manufacturer most likely to try something different. I have owned nine GTS1000s, but still have the first one, now much modified. I also have two BT1100 Bulldogs, one nice and pretty for sunny days, one tatty and high mileage. I think the Bulldogs are seriously under-rated, which is why I have had 6 of them so far. My wife has a Bulldog too, and I have been serial owning Bulldogs trying to find one as good as hers.

Anyway, enough about me. Hi all.

Hi Biggles, :welcome: aboard mate, a thousand bikes f**k me you have been busy. I'm 63 been riding since I was 14 and not even close to that number, I think your going to be very popular on here as there are Triumph/BMW/Suzuki owners on here as well, I have a feeling they might be asking you a lot of questions. Bung up a few pictures of your collection.

OK. Here are a couple of pictures (hopefully) of my wife's Bulldog and mine at a recent event a Jack's Hill cafe, near Towcester. My wife (Crazy Biker Gran) has custom paintwork on the tank (to match her crash helmet) plus V-metal (genuine Yamaha accessories for the Bulldog) front mudguard, rear hugger, mirrors and tank-front panel. Plus Scorpion pipes, one-off seat by Digger in Wales, and lots of orange trim bits. Mine is the standard bike behind. A bit twee I suppose, his and hers matching Bulldogs!

The other picture is of my 1992 GTS1000. I have owned this bike for about 18 years, and it has slowly progressed over that time from an accident damaged, nearly new standard bike to what you see now. It has Honda VFR750 single-sider swing arm and wheel (and lost the ABS at that time), tuned Thunderace engine with one-off exhaust, modified front fairing, Suzuki SRAD rear sub-frame and bodywork, ZXR400 footrests (rear-set), top yoke conversion with risers and fully-adjustable but narrowed Jota bars and loads more besides. It has been on a back-burner for a while as I have been concentrating on my old British bikes, but I really need to get my arse into gear and sort out a matched pair of wheels, then I can start making it look pretty.
