Hey guys just baught myself a little project. It looked like a classic dt50 but when i checked out the chassis number it came up as a 1977 ty50m. The strange thing is the chassis has a mount for a monoshock and not rear twin shocks. could anyone shed some light on weather they made a single shock version at any point?

Mate had one from new was def twin shocks ..does yours actually have mono or just the fixing? Seem to remember ty being very small compared to the dt.....

Your both right , they were TY50P in 1977. first of the restricted mopeds, two of my mates had them , my they were slow,

one of those was my first ever road bike when i was 16. def twin shock. it was as far as i remember made in 1977, if you cut the pipe open under the seat all yamaha done to restrict them was weld a baffle in. wip it out and away you go upto a heady 50 mph
