Hello everyone I am new to these forums. I have a 1993 Yamaha Banshee and did have a 2003 Raptor 80 when I was younger, it recently got sold. My father has a torn apart dirt bike in the shed in my backyard and I decided to look at it. He said if I wanted to give it a shot to try to get it working I can. He has taken apart the intake and some electrical components (I think its the CDI). I found all the parts and everything is good but just one problem... I don't know the damn model! these are the best photos I can get tonight but I will get some tomorrow. From what I saw it looks like a 2 stroke judging the pipe. I just don't want to start it with regular gas and find out its a 2 stroke. Just some extra things to help it is liquid cooled and It seems like a 125. My Banshees intake ports are larger than the port on this bike. Thanks :)eb035a3c1aa032afaf69e6548c7b742d.jpg4f1b6bff9a2d03b44008660265632eaa.jpg4c9a8c99d3378d2c5df116e39e75ca4a.jpga9f22811b3c44a6ec93cd585a6597091.jpg

No. Its not liquid cooled and having (i think) a head stud showing at the back of the head its a 175. 6 studs for 175, 4 for the 125.

Dependant on the side the oil tank is on and if it has a round or square section sw arm will date it.

As is its a 1979/80 ish Yamaha Dt175MX. The 125 is litterally identical bar a clutch plate, bigger bore and 4 or 6 head studs. Easy upgrade, or in my case down. I will be making my 175 a 125 for my daughter.

Put the first half of the engine/frame number up and we can say for certain.

Ok sorry for the wait but I finally pulled it out today and here are some pictures. From what I can see someone owned it removed the turn signals. Found the carb and part of the fender.73a942a332e9912b4f3348a2dfc518c9.jpg26f5856ccf3723781a8a9978c6b1c1fe.jpg54051dec85f0c166f8beec216bc91307.jpg40cf23cc3235ff051d64198c5e6b4fc7.jpg210a1001d5c974ef90f73c9985002ecc.jpg

i'm going off the paint scheme, the number plate bracket and the silencer Jason

That's what Im basing it off too. So I have another question. I have this 4 inch pod filter I originally bought for my Banshee but it didnt work out. It fits snug on the carb so would I be able to use it? I took the main out and the main is clogged and I have a 150 from my Banshee. Could I use the 150 in it? Would it be about right with the increased air flow?5754e17e2e1f488dbd5ea7add7653df4.jpg

Yes i agree its like yours paul just more knackerd and yellow but seeing as my dt would stump all of that logic.

The chassis number will tell without any doubt.
