Ratnim
I'm a newbie and adjusted the chain on my yamaha ybr125 which should be simple. But after starting the bike and putting it into 1st, I found the clutch doesn't work when pulled in.The clutch was fine before and there's no problem with the cable. Anyone got any ideas why? Ratnim
dt502001 apologies. The back wheel is still being driven by the engine even when the clutch lever is held in.
neversaydie
do you mean that the rear wheel still rotate when the bike is on the centre stand with the clutch in?
Ratnim
Yes,neversaydie. I'm now guessing it's supposed to do that when on the centre stand.....and I should be hanging my head in shame about now.
AndrewElvisFan
When the engine is cold, the oil is thicker, so yes the rear wheel will turn. Like my SR, it is a wet clutch, which runs in the engine oil. As long as the bike doesn't stall with clutch pulled in and rear brake is operated, all is good!
