Ratnim Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 I'm a newbie and adjusted the chain on my yamaha ybr125 which should be simple. But after starting the bike and putting it into 1st, I found the clutch doesn't work when pulled in.The clutch was fine before and there's no problem with the cable. Anyone got any ideas why?
dt502001 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 ok normaly it is polite to say hi first in the new member section, but what do you mean its dosent work when pulled in?
Ratnim Posted October 4, 2014 Author Posted October 4, 2014 dt502001 apologies. The back wheel is still being driven by the engine even when the clutch lever is held in.
neversaydie Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 do you mean that the rear wheel still rotate when the bike is on the centre stand with the clutch in?
Ratnim Posted October 4, 2014 Author Posted October 4, 2014 Yes,neversaydie. I'm now guessing it's supposed to do that when on the centre stand.....and I should be hanging my head in shame about now.
AndrewElvisFan Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 When the engine is cold, the oil is thicker, so yes the rear wheel will turn. Like my SR, it is a wet clutch, which runs in the engine oil. As long as the bike doesn't stall with clutch pulled in and rear brake is operated, all is good!
dt502001 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 LOL no problem Rataim Say hi in the new members and hang around you might need some more answers by the sounds of things as you have seen lots of people willing to help,if one of us is busy and cant answer right away others will.
neversaydie Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Yes,neversaydie. I'm now guessing it's supposed to do that when on the centre stand.....and I should be hanging my head in shame about now. Yep, it will when on the centre stand. We all live and learn
