Moderator Airhead Posted September 28, 2014 Moderator Posted September 28, 2014 Hi jon, not sure NEV would know but we dont see him nowadays, I seem to think though that the forks use different disk calipers...like the supermoto has a brembo and a bigger disk ??
Manxplodder1972 Posted September 28, 2014 Author Posted September 28, 2014 Hi Airhead, I have a horrible feeling you are right I still have the forks might be worth pricing for new top section cheers for replying Jon
Moderator Airhead Posted September 28, 2014 Moderator Posted September 28, 2014 you havent really explained what is wrong with your forks jon...what exactly is 'shot' ?
Manxplodder1972 Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 The bike was crashed into some air bails on TT course, top stanchions have bent at bottom yoke, one has split the other is very bent Might be worth just getting the forks fixed bike only has 958 miles on it
KevtheRev Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Did you price new stanchions (chrome tubes ) ? They can be repaired up to a point , but if they are creased or split they are scrap . You could try to get a half decent second hand set and have 'em rolled and rechromed but it all takes time . Best o' luck .
dt502001 Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 If the forks are that bent then you want to check the triple clamps as well mainly the lower.Lots of companys on the net that do repro tubes so you could reuse all the other parts( spring top cap, lower leg's ) Holy crap a quick flea bay and walla here you go cheap as pie 45 bucks complete http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=yamaha+fork+stanchions&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xyamaha+dt125r+fork+stanchions&_nkw=yamaha+dt125r+fork+stanchions&_sacat=0

hadley8899 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Just for reference, I used DTR fork stanchions in my DTX forks. They are exactly the same (The DTX fork stanchions were very poorly chromed and had rusted) There are a few changes inside the fork however Have a look at my build project if you are interested in seeing them in pieces Its in the projects section (DTR,DTRE,DTX merge) All the best
