Posted March 14, 200619 yr New rider, I have a 600 genesis that will not start, it backfires only. the engine is turning over. Ran fine before I went offshore but my mate could not get it to start on my return. It has been suggested that it is just damp on ignition system and plugs. Any ideas would be appreciated. Mark

Mark i had the same problem last year when i bought mine ..... think it's like you predicted .... damp. i cleaned the plugs wd40 the ht caps fresh juice give it drying time in the sun ( ha ) ... started after a few minutes turning over.... run's sweet since.....
