So long story long I moved to France from Spain because of work issues and I never really had much money so I couldn't get any type of license, in France things are going a bit better but biking is.. not the best thing in the world to get from A to B let's say, so I decided to start small and do the 50cc license (I've always liked bikes but from 0 to a 500kg bike I rather get some experience first) So I purchased a Yamaha DT 50 R about a week ago (I like having to shift gears and a scooter won't do that for me) and I'm trying to make her look somewhat decent because the previous owner had a little.. slide with it let's say I'm trying to look for some fairing but I'm having a really hard time figuring out what year it's from, the guy I bought it from had it advertised as a 1995, then I found out it might be a 1991 since google results show the same bike.. but then someone is selling the same one I have but as a 1988 so.. I was hoping that you guys could help me figure out what it really is. Here is some pics I just took a while ago to help out(sorry for the quality it's dark outside and the garage doesn't get much light)

couldn't post the images, too big.

MX clocks, motor and swingarm, R body panels tank and seat?? O.o a standard DT MX has a round headlight with skinny nacelle, smaller yokes e.t.c

IMG_120735158057561_zpshyrqq04e.jpeg

It's a bit of an oddball, iirc the DT50MX ran from 1983 to 1994, only real change was from points to CDi ignition around 1986-87

The front end is definitely not original as it has a front disc instead of drum brakes

The Haynes manual states that VIN numbers for the DT50MX are either 5M6, 2FN or 4ER1... So I'm at a bit if a loss on that one.

Well thanks for the info.. still lost as for what year it's from but eh it works, I probably wont be using it long enough to bother putting any money into it just some to keep it running and so forth.
