Cobalt Posted March 4, 2006 Share Posted March 4, 2006 Hi everyone I have just bought a new 2005 R1 and I have to say that I am delighted with it. I was just wondering what everyones suggestions were for running it in. So far I have done around 100 miles and, as the manual recommends I have been doing my best to keep her below 7000rpm but I have heard conflicting opinions about wether its better to follow the manual or to use more of the rev range. Moderator YamaHead Posted March 5, 2006 Moderator Share Posted March 5, 2006 1st of all.... to the forum Cobalt Keeping it below 7k for the 1st 500 miles or so surely can't hurt. After that, varying your Rev's for awhile will probably yield the best results for well balanced performance from that Beast.
