Hi I have xs250 my trouble is I can not get above 80kmph and will not pull top gear when I do it just losers rpm and road speed ,I have replaced plugs and leads,has a whole new wiring loom,cleaned carby ,has a new needle and set and floot,new air filters ,the bike runs well always starts first kick,seems to be running great at lower end but just dies in top gears

could the bores / rings be worn?

a compression test might be useful

tune the engine ie timing, ensure fuel flow is working properly.

then its down to carbs/intake leaks

it take a good 5 hours to clean those carbs properly ie ultrasonic cleaning etc
