s900t8v Posted August 12, 2014 Share Posted August 12, 2014 hey all just wondering why my yamaha ag175 has a small drilled hole in the cylinder wall that connects through with the exhaust port. all 3 of my ag cylinders have this its baffling me I can put up a photo if people dont know what I'm talking about I am wondering if its to drop the performance of the engine>? cheers Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Moderator Airhead Posted August 12, 2014 Moderator Share Posted August 12, 2014 It's to make getting the piston in starting position easier...dab on the kicker to get the piston to TDC the gas bleeds into the port to make this easier...then when it's at TDC its ready for a kickstart ' RD400 also have this feature, doesnt drop performance when it's running so's you'd notice Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
