im trying to get the shock of my xj900.ive undone the nut but the bolt wont move is it welded to the frame ? cant seem to get the bolt to move .

No it`s not welded,its rusted spray with penetrating lube and keep tring to rotate it, worse case put nut back on a bit And tap with hammer and a block of hard wood.

ive done all that.there is a type of washer on bolt head side that is bent over on two sides so wont be able to turn the bolt .it just wont move .

if the tabs are replaceable, knock them back and turn the bolt to release the rust holding the bolt in

it looks like the washer is welded to the frame.will have another look at it
