GriftyWelder
Hello Folks, I was wondering if someone could help me with an electrical issue on my Yamaha EW50 Slider moped? When the Slider is cold and I turn on the ignition I have a working horn, indicators and brake light. When I start the ped I lose all of those and the headlight is very dim. I've tested the battery with a multi-meter and it's showing 13v with the engine off, but I'm not getting any voltage rise with the engine running. I'm guessing the problem could be one of four things: 1) A dodgy stator. 2) Bad earth (I can only find two - one on the starter and one on the coil and they both look fine). 3) Regulator/rectifier (gets very hot, very quickly) 4) Shagged battery. Has anyone had a problem like this before, or has anyone got any idea what the problem could be? Many thanks, Jason

AndrewElvisFan
When I had a Piaggio ped I had a similar issue and turned out to be the rectifier. Cost was such I got rid and bought a 125!
KevtheRev
I think you can get aftermarket reg/rec's for reasonable money these days .
