Is there any way to raise or lower the engine's idle speed on a 2009 XJ6 diversion? Currently it idles at 1000rpm but I feel it could do with raising by about 100-200rpm. There doesn't appear to be an manual idle adjustment screw that I can find on the l/h side of the engine, so is it permanently set by the ECU?

Cheers for any info.

Have you got an owners manual with the bike? If you have it should tell you in there how to adjust the idle speed. If not you can download one from the Yamaha website here http://www.yamaha-motor.eu/uk/services/owner-manuals/index.aspx

Looks like there should be a screw on the LH side of the bike under the fuel tank for the the idle speed adjustment.

Thanks a lot for the info, it does appear theres an idle adjustment where you said it was. The manual recommends 1250-1350rpm and mine idles at 1000rpm exactly so a bit of increase in idle speed is needed.

Again thanks a lot, its appreciated.
