yamahamike
Hello, I have a 1975 dt 400, its got a huge dead spot in the throttle, and it kicks back when I kick it. Just got the bike had a broken woodruff key. Starts and idles just hesitates when you open it up.I cleaned the carb already.I also bought a dial indicator and it does seem like its in time, although I might not of been using it right. 2.9 mm btdc. Any suggestions? Thanks

Moderator Cynic Posted May 3, 2014 Moderator Share Posted May 3, 2014 Standard kick process. Couple of slow pushes on the kicker till you feel it come up against the engine comp. Then take the kicker back to the top an give a strong 'kick' through that compression. That should have it go ok.
