yamahamike
Hello, I got a 74 dt 125 yesterday with a no spark issue. I hooked a battery to it and the electronics don't seem to work. I have no horn, lights , no neutral light nothing. There's voltage flowing to the ignition, and some other wires I noticed with a tester. I pulled the magneto and looks like someone tried replacing the condenser. It has some soldered wires on top of it. Looks like they couldn't get the stator plate off because of some badly stripped bolts. Anyone have any idea's on what might be going on Why nothings working thanks! blackhat250
Ok mike,,, the soarse coil, provides current for the spark,,,,do a continuity test on all wires from stator,, As for the dash lights, they might be blown,,, A multi meter is a must,,,
Moderator Cynic Posted April 22, 2014 Moderator Share Posted April 22, 2014 First job is replace the points and condenser. Then see if it runs. The rest will be nothing drastic providing the loom is good. As to the ruined screws, so long as the plate is tight and where it should be. Leave it for now. Unless it looks recently disturbed. yamahamike
Ok, points looked shot so I got a new set and condenser coming. Ill let you know if that works, thanks! One funny thing is I got spark once and only once, while swapping coils. Weird right?
