Hi guys,

Does anyone know the specific alloy that the coolant inlet cover off the Yamaha R6 is?

(It's this one being sold on ebay: http://tinyurl.com/qzxdenu

By the looks of it, it has been high pressure die cast but I can't find the specific material anywhere. I want to know because I'm trying to find out whether you can weld Al 6063 directly on to this.

Any help will be kindly appreciated!

Thanks

I've got one! I'm just trying to find out the spec so I can get in touch with welders to see if it's possible

If it's not marked magnisium on the inside then try and polish it with some compound if it polishs up then it's aluminum if it wont polish then its mag.
