bonzoid60
Quick question, which is the correct NGK plug for a 1987 SRX 400, DPR7EA9 or DPR8EA9?
dt502001
A 7 is a hotter plug than a 8 so if its using oil then go with the 7 will stay cleaner longer if that helps.
Speedshop
DPR8EA9 is right for the 400. http://www.rexs-speedshop.com/epages/es143131.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es143131/Products/DPR8EIX-
obriens65
Wemoto has it listed as the DPR7EA-9 for the SRX400 http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/yamaha/srx_400_1jljapanese_market/85/picture/spark_plug_ngk/
Speedshop
Well I'd go with the box mover then. Rather then the specialists who have actually worked on these bikes. The 7 is for the 600 engine.
dt502001
Got to agree with rex the bike may be listed as both but each bike is used in different climates and altitude, and then best to use the one for your climate and sea level,so best to ask someone in your area as to which one is best for your climate. Or the factory manual NOT some POS climer or haynes also with the different fuels now adays the old manuals would be wrong anyway. Even the gap is wrong for modern pump/race/low or high octain fuels
