G'day everyone, stoked to be apart of the yamaha club.

Just pick up a TX500

Have a bunch of questions that I hope you could help me with. but for now I'll ask just a few.

It looks to be sitting for a while without be kicked over. (for who knows how long)

We are starting off by replacing the battery/spark plugs. To see if we can get it running. Do you recommend doing anything else before trying to kick it over?

At the same time we will run some new oil through it, do you recommend "flushing" the engine first? I have read bad things about flushing engines saying it can damage seals etc.

Cheers

Aaron

I never had a TX500 but have always liked them as for flushing I have done a few over the years without any problems however since its been standing for a while the seals could be knackered anyway.

Apart from what you have already said, pull all the electrical connections and clean/lube too give your self a chance. Also the carbs would have seen better days.

Good luck.
