I am trying to register an RD2OODX ? which has the VIN IE8-229609.I have been told by a few people its a 1978 model although Nova are saying it was first registered in 1974.

Could anybody help ?

Hi Mark, Not to sure what your question is to be honest perhaps if you could tell a bit of the back story we might be able to help, some of the guy's on here have registered bikes from overseas and they will be more than pleased to help out if you explain what it is you actually want, not being awkward but where are you going with this?

It's usual to do an intro (new members) section before you ask a question it's just polite to say Hi first before you ask strangers for their advice, thanks. :jossun:

It is an import and the vin is different to the engine number which is AS3-402922.The engine is stamped 195cc.

When I bought the bike there was no V5 or number plate and its taking an age to register.

Write to yamaha uk for a dating letter.. or join the Air-cooled RD club, your engine is pre1974, as the RD200A [1973] starts 397-000100
