Par62003 Posted March 19, 2014 Share Posted March 19, 2014 Hi all, starting to put the engine back together and I've got a couple of questions. Firstly I've put the new main bearings into the crankcases, do the seals go in now as well or when it's all mated up ? And on the subject of mating the halfs together, whats a good gasket sealant ? I've heard yamabond mentioned but it seems to be unavailable in the Uk ?, certainly none on eBay. Any help much appreciated, thanks. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Moderator Cynic Posted March 20, 2014 Moderator Share Posted March 20, 2014 Seals go in same time as the bearings. Use a heatgun on the cases and they drop in with barely a tap. Make sure they are the right seals, they are different for each side and very easy to mix up. Red hylomar worked fine for me, dont blather it on though. Just a thin bead.
