Hey all ... New to here .. Trying to help a very stressed friend. I found the DT for him for his sons birthday. It's a bit of an old nail but all there(ish).. We have been trying to get it to run for a while without success , but noticed that one of the wires (red/white) from the pick up wasn't looking great. Re soldered it and she started!! It ran for nearly five minutes the stopped and now WILL NOT EVEN FIRE.. Really clutching at straws here but thinking crank seal??? If I put my hand over the carb mouth and kick it over my hand gets soaked in petrol ???? The plug seems quite dry considering the number of times we've kicked it over.. Would expect it to be soaked ??? Tried some fuel down the plug hole, tried easy start in the plug hole and into the carb but nothing!! Carb is spotless now and all jets removed and cleaned. How can I test of bad crank seals??? There is no sign of oil or fuel in the flywheel side and we have removed the flywheel to check behind.

Hi King.P. it will run with knackered crankseals, you say ran for 5 mins , was this with choke on? did it run with choke off ,?

you"l not find fuel behind flywheel ,as it will be sucking air in,,

Dry plug - defo pllot or choke jet clogged,,, how is the spark,,, oh change the plug , as they can fail when warm,,,if old,

And its a Liquid cooled,,,is there a knackered head gasket,,, all these thing need illiminated,

U tube will show you a leak down test for crankseals,,
