Chr1s Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Hi guys & gals (if there are any) Wonder if any one can shed any light on this I bought my bike a month or to ago but Over the last few weeks my gears have become very stiff and hard to change, clutch is fine, chain oiled and adjusted correctly, could this be bad oil or possibly something worse? Any help greatly appreciated
blackhat250 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Sounds like lack of oil cris " hows the level,,,
Chr1s Posted March 3, 2014 Author Posted March 3, 2014 I didn't look before draining the oil which was a horrid black I am getting fresh oil tomorrow fingers crossed
wild foamy Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Make sure you use motorbike specific oil!, if you chuck any old car oil in your bikes' wet clutch will slip due to the additives in the oil which is designed for dry clutches (in cars).
neversaydie Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Set the clutch cable adjustment as per the owners manual
Moderator Cynic Posted March 4, 2014 Moderator Posted March 4, 2014 Have you oiled the shift linkage/shaft where it passes through the outer case. Bike oil will allways be black because of the clutch. 1
Chr1s Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 Cynic you hit it on the head......it's just taken me an hour of wiggling to get the case off gears work fine now....mass clean and grease up in the morning
