Posted March 3, 201411 yr I have a 61 plate YBR which has just started hunting between 1000-2000 rpm and then stalls. Any idea what can cause this? My local dealer has never heard of this happening before. It has done 530 miles from new and has always been garaged when not in use. Any help will be gratefully received.
March 3, 201411 yr 3 to 4 years old and only 530 miles? Fuel system/tank/fuel filter gummed up would be my first thought
March 3, 201411 yr Author Yeah, I had a bad injury which has limited my riding. I'm eager to catch up. I will have a look. Is it worth replacing the fuel?
March 3, 201411 yr Yeh " clean the tank, and carb. check the air filtre too while at it, ,new plug , Just done my ride-on mower, been outside all winter, done all of above, sprayed all wiring with WD 40 . Fired up first turn,,
March 3, 201411 yr If all else fails you can borrow blackhats lawnmower !!!! Tho don't forget to bring it back when it runs out of fuel :biglaugha:
March 5, 201411 yr Author I've found the problem. The spark plug I'd arcing against the radiator baffles on the engine. New lead? The spark plug looks fine with no scorching on it and the lead looks good on the outside.
