Captain Starfire
1.8 petrol Mondeo? You should try the 130 horse coal burner. Now that is an old man's car (I should know, I've just bought one and I'm old enough). Still, it has a good way to deter tailgaters - just floor the throttle and leave a cloud of dark, stinking smoke on their windscreens. Almost as good as flicking the kill switch on a big callibre twin.

Boozehound
wtf are u on about I assume it's a diesel Mondeo?
mozzy
I assume it's a diesel Mondeo? nope the 1.8 turbo diesel in the mondeo is a 8v the 1.8 16v petrol mondeo is only 115 bhp ford only put the 130 bhp spec engine in the sportier cars ie mk5 escort xr3i and the fiesta rs1800 and orion ghia si. they also made the 105 bhp spec 1800 16v engine the engine is the same on all variants only difference being is the induction system ie throttle bodie and head work ie better cams etc if i remember rightly there are two type of 1800 diesel lumps in the older fords ie 1800 td and 1800 endura e both turbo i think the 1800 td is about 65 bhp and the 1800 endura e td engind is 70 bhp. ford dont make engines at all any more. the new engines are made by a company called puma (pronounced pooma) in france they make most of fords engines now also they use mazda and volvo engines. the new engines are used in a lot of other manafacturers cars ie the 1400 tdci ford engine is exactly same engine as what is in the peugeot 1400 hdi only differnece being is ford made a crap fueling system making the 1400tdci very nippy but very easy to stall wereas the peugeot fuelling is alot better and hard to stall but the turbo is very very laggy compared to the fiesta......... back to bike talk 1.8 petrol Mondeo?
