No wrinkles/orange peeling going on. You might be seeing some case damage that I have on bottom half of the clutch section (right hand side of the picture).

Got the top half of my case stripped. A little more cleaning and it'll be ready for painting.

The whole look of the bike works - at least for me. That's what the bikes looked like before the faired bikes came in ('85 for the RZ). There was a transition where they had a small 1/4 fairing up top

Got some engine enamel on my bottom case half today. I should get my new shift drum and seals in this week. The tranny should go back together by next week.

I replaced the JIS screws holding the oil pump to the case. I try to replace them any chance I can. I use stainless, socket head cap screws.

Coming along!

Thanks buddy. I slightly damaged the outside of the seal for the kicker. I got a little rammy. I should have used my aluminum drift. Instead I used a socket - which moved on me. Seal should be ok

I stole the 'reflective black' vinyl idea from Felix. My bike will be gloss black and I'll do a combo of reflective black and white decals.

I am going to put reflective black YAMAHA on the tank along with a raised yamaha badge. I put a white decal beside the badge to give an idea of what it'll look like.

2 coats of primer now applied to the top case.

I've removed the shift drum and forks from the bottom case half. I'm boiling the front half in rad fluid to remove all the gunk

Got the lights mounted on a crappy pc of aluminum - for now. I don't have decent aluminum stock laying around that I can make proper stuff outta.

I just want to figure out a decent mounting method.

They do look like they belong! I like it.

Gonna try to put in my battery and test these this weekend and make sure all is ok.

Finished painting and unmasking my upper case.

Thanks Noise. I wanted something really bright for the rear indicators. Felix told me about them. I thought they might be big for the back end, bit looks like they just fit. The style seems to work well also.

Hopefully I won't be getting rear ended by a soccer mom with these bad boys.

Yer they fit really well, will look even better once the rear plastic is on them.
