Bradford_angler Posted January 13, 2006 Share Posted January 13, 2006 s'pose it is a how long is a piece of string, but how much does it cost to prepare and powder coat a frame and swing arm ? saw it done on the telly with wheel for a vintage car . . looks quite hard work so guess it is expensive. Also not knowing anything about the process are the different types of coating and is there anything to watch out for ? and is it specialist for bikes or will I get a similar result from anyone I pull out of the yellow pages ? I used triple s in bingley http://www.triple-s.co.uk/ they have an online price list, do a superb job, just degrease your frame and swing arm and they plug all your holes and blast and paint it. sheeny7 Posted January 14, 2006 Share Posted January 14, 2006 Hi mate i used to work for a company that had a powder coaters and had alot dealings with it and who ever you use make sure you talk to folk who been there and had work done!! As if its not done right its a expensive nightmare but a good hard wearing finish if done right. nigelf Posted January 8, 2007 Share Posted January 8, 2007 Triple-s in bingley are brill... they plug all areas that dont require any coating and pride themselves on show quality coatings. The one thing they do ask is for you to remove all oil/grease. They will clean but you will pay for it! They also do not coat office furniture or garden fences so its not an industrial bead blasting your frame gets.
