Posted July 12, 201311 yr got a note from the heads, telling me to sorn my bike or get it insured.. it's been laid up for a while, so it's off the road in the shed. it has TAX on until end of year, so why the fuck should i have to sorn it. anyway i just got it insured for £87.00p yea read it and weep young un's... this is with hastings direct fully comprehensive ..
July 12, 201311 yr any bike must be insured. the only way to keep a bike with no insurance is to sorn it. that is why they tell you to sorn the bike.
July 12, 201311 yr Even off the road, you're still insured against theft. Taxed implies you're riding it, or keeping it on-road, for which you require at least 3rd party insurance. Fairly straighforward and makes sense, given how easily people can sue you these days...
July 13, 201311 yr Author cheers guys , now it's insured i can pull my finger out and get the jobs done while it's sunny. it runs fine , i just got back from a jolly to the BARN, but it needs a few jobs doing "like speedo neutral light and tyre re-seating . oh yea? the most important bit, the front wheel bearings shot.
July 13, 201311 yr Moderator Kev, wheel bearings are generic, prob 6263 or something so get them from a bearing place (there one in Bolton near the scrap yards) if you need a hand doing them give us a shout and I'll call round after work
