Posted December 3, 200519 yr Hi, Prospective new member here, depending on the replies to the question heheheh I have been offered a 1989 FZR 600 by a neighbor of mine for a very paltry sum that i'm considering turning into a track bike. It's been sitting for quite some time as the previous owner blew the engine, then got a replacement (with no history) but never fitted it. Anything specific I should look into in the "new" engine?? How reliable are the FZR 600's motors? I know i'm gonna have to clean carbs, replace fork seals, gaskets, sprokets, chain etc but i'm a bit wary of an engine with absolutely no history..... thanks!
