lallasro Posted June 19, 2013 Share Posted June 19, 2013 hi there! i`m looking forward to buy some accessories for my bike and i need some advice from xvs950 owners. first step, I want a seat, single with backrest, if anyone can tell me what is the best options (confort-price) second step, I need a windshield. i`m 6'2" (1,87 m). I hear about yamaha windshields are crap, so, i exclude this option. those are more important things... next years I will need also some panniers but I guess the standard touring yamaha are fine... also i think the yamaha engine bar is ok but I will not ignore any advice until I will find a way to pay my membership so I can post in wanted area (I still wait an answer after 2 months from admin site), fell free to send me a message if you have some xvs950a accessories for sale. thanks a lot Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Having had a wee peek on Ebay there are plenty of things on there and not a bad price. I have already purchased leather lockable saddlebags, a bonneville screen and passenger footboards. saved in the region of £1000 so far. I fancy the sissy bar with padded backrest next as it will just finish off the back end and an aftermarket set of pipes with something like a baloney cut, either that or i'll make some and chrome them myself. Once its all polished and fitted i shall do some before and after shots. I forgot to add I'm 6ft5 and can't wait to see the looks I'll get cruising. Just depends what you're after, the exchange rate and what the UK price is. Got a Cobra Slipon exhaust for about £220 delivered (www.sscustomcycles.com) and Mustang seats with backrest for about £200 cheaper than UK (http://store.valueaccessories.net/index.aspx). I already ordered a mustang solo seat from west end few days ago about yamaha windshield: some people say about this you take all the wind in your face... can be because of wrong size BUT I don`t want risk pay lot of money for transport to be forced send id back because is not doing his job. that is why I need advice and I agree with you about engine guard. nothing better like this on the market. a question for you, I saw you have that double v&h (I guess) exhaust. you try put saddlebags with those pipes? and if you do this, its working or I need take a look on single pipes? lallasro Posted July 9, 2013 Author Share Posted July 9, 2013 I order 2 weeks ago a mustang seat with rider backrest from west end motorcycle USA and I just receive the invoice for all taxes (vat, duty, etc) and is not so bad. including shipping, I pay a total of 444 pounds. the same item can be buy from uk with 600 pounds including shipping. I still don`t understand why I pay for a 3d convertor 147 dolars+ lot of taxes and transport, a total of 250 pounds, including the item price. so you are right clarkegray. lallasro Posted July 10, 2013 Author Share Posted July 10, 2013 I install today the seat and the rack. the comfort is ok, much better that standard seat, a bit up and in front but ok. now I don`t feel like i`m near to fly from my bike at high speed, the backrest doing a great job lol. also the bike look was improved, its looking better now. bevo, you say you don`t have any problem with yamaha standard windshield. Can you give me more detail about this? I can anjust this shield? clarke Posted July 20, 2013 Share Posted July 20, 2013 Glad you got sorted with the seats etc. I have to say I'd always consider importing from the US against buying here, as much as I'd love to support UK companies it can be much much cheaper to import. As for the Breakaway, I've not used one but I know many XVS1300 riders love them.
