June 1, 201311 yr Moderator not sure but i would guess no, I know for a fact though that a pair wouldnt be needed
June 1, 201311 yr Author I knew 2 wudnt have to be fitted but wasn't sure about having one or none thanks airhead
June 1, 201311 yr I know of classic bikes that have passed mot without any mirrors, and custom bikes with no mirrors. Not sure about modern bikes or scooters that came fitted with them originally. Doing a little research I found this, The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986, regulation 33, item 5 in the table says no mirrors are required.http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1986/1078/part/II/chapter/E/crossheading/mirrors/made I'm no lawyer though, and I have noticed there are ammendments to the legislation, I haven't looked through them all to figure out if anything has changed. So I can't guarantee that this stands.. Best advice is to call a garage and just ask?
June 1, 201311 yr Author Thanks for that awesome bit of research norcot, I did do a quick google search but could not find anything about mirrors
June 1, 201311 yr yeah like Norcot said call the place you are taking it and ask. mine passed without mirrors a couple of months ago, don't know if that means much though- he didn't seam all that strict.
