wallywant xj6s Posted May 23, 2013 Share Posted May 23, 2013 Hi, just looking for a little information please.is it always that you need to have your bike shims/tappets changed at certain mileage as if so when does this happen is it at certain age or certain mileage though out the bikes life as at the moment my Yamaha xj6s has done 7300 mile from new. many thanks. slice Posted May 23, 2013 Share Posted May 23, 2013 Hardly time to worry with only 7K on the clock!! But usually it is when it starts to make more noise than it should, that's pretty subjective I know but the only other way to find out is to take the rocker cover off and dig around with a feeler gauge as you check your manual.
