Moderator Cynic Posted April 18, 2013 Moderator Share Posted April 18, 2013 Because with the valve pinned wide open the carb settings are wrong. Your going to have to put up with it. At low rpm it should be flat and horrible to ride in traffic then at around 6k it should light up and make like the starship enterprise going to warp. Seriously the power will come in in a big wheelie inducing wallop. Its brilliant.
Moderator Airhead Posted April 18, 2013 Moderator Share Posted April 18, 2013 Good its fixed for now, keep a spare plug on you and a spanner when you're out on it, hopefully it wont be a regular occurance lots of people ride with pv's pinned in a fixed position hopefully you can join in the fun

Moderator Cynic Posted April 18, 2013 Moderator Share Posted April 18, 2013 Its a bit of a guess. Back in the day the greace monkeys (me included) were sticking jets upto 250 in for proper flat out screaming. After taking the restrictions out. If im honest we ruined more than most as we screwed the power right up and caned em. If yours takes off at 7 cleanly leave well alone and keep a weather eye on the plug colour.
