roa1d Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Currently got a fzr600r foxeye. Need more bottom end power, so was thinking about changing my rear wheel sprocket any idea on a suitable one??? i'm thinking ill need to lengthen my chain. any one done this or have any advice??
sheeny7 Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 depends how bit you go on back to if you need to lenghten the chain.. but to get alot of bottom end your prob need at least 3 teeth more or you could get a smaller front! but a rule 1 tooth smaller on front is bout 3 bigger on back...
Moderator Beezkneez Posted September 28, 2005 Moderator Posted September 28, 2005 drop the front sprocket 1 tooth and you will see a difference drop it 2 and it'll wheelie for fun i have an Exup 1000 and have increased the rear from 47 to 48 but also have a 16 waiting to go on the front (17 standard)..i'm thinking more along 16/47 rather than 16/48 as this will wear the chain quicker (ratios). Didnt have to alter the chain in anyway hth
BENN5150 Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 would it make much difference if i was just to drop a tooth on the front? Cheers Benn
Moderator Beezkneez Posted July 18, 2006 Moderator Posted July 18, 2006 yes, its like adding 3 to the back
