Moderator Cynic Posted March 16, 2013 Author Moderator Share Posted March 16, 2013 True drewps. I had my tantrum. Swore at the sun, moon and thestars then looked at ways to fix it. So after 2hrs with a swiss file and patience i have rescued the thread. Acid test will be when she runs but i see no reason for it not to work. Have to be careful starting the nut to be sure its square otherwise it looks ok.

dt502001
If only the last few threads are nfg what i have done is to file them flat/tapered so starting the nut only contacts the lowest part of the undammaged thread, run it in and out a few times with a different nut or if you have a die better. Hope it goes together better next time.
