Hi, I bought a Yamaha ybr 250 at the begining of November 2012! Albeit second hand I bought it from a dealer, the salesman says the original owner bought it from them, rode it for 6 months and then parked it in the garage for 2 years due to having a stroke, it had a full service history at that same dealer and eventually returned to the dealer because he realised he would never be able to ride it again, it only had 1200 on the clock, I was assured by the salesman it would be a good commuter, it would be reliable and they know the bike. Well after 3 months the throttle body has gone and this is a £700 part to replace.

According to the consumer act the dealer must replace the part free of charge (part and labour) and they need to compensate me for my travel expended as this part is going to take 6-8 weeks for the part to come. And this is what I am expecting the dealer to do, he says the bike is out of warrantee and so I must pay for the part to be replaced.

Advice please....

I don/t know the laws there but I think your gona have to pay ,post a proper intro about yourself and the rest of the people here might have some other solution.

I would be looking for a used 1 before paying that

good luck
