oscarfs
Hey there, I recently serviced my bike (YBR 125) and upon checking my chain I found that it appears to be very loose. I therefore need to tighten it, I have the haynes manual and I need a torque wrench, I think its for the axal. What i am wondering is what torque wrench would cover the the majority of jobs the I would be doing my self on the bike? I don't want to spend too much at the moment and have been looking at the following ones: http://toolstoday.co.uk/shop.php?sec=prod&prod=4755&cat=49&load_page=Sealey+Torque+Wrench+Micrometer+Style+3%2F8%26quot%3BSq+Drive+7-112Nm%2F5-83lb.ft This one seems to have a good range. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Draper-34570-88-5-708-Inch-Pounds-Ratchet/dp/B0001K9T2O/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1360083174&sr=8-2 This one has a lower range, not sure if I will be need higher than this goes too? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Silverline-633567-Torque-Wrench/dp/B000LFTSG6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1360083174&sr=8-1 Cheap but the range is quite good and goes rather high, may be a bit unacurate because of this? Any reccomendations guys? Thanks, Oscar
Moderator drewpy Posted February 5, 2013 Moderator Share Posted February 5, 2013 I have two, a small range one which is between 7.5nm to 25nm and a cheaper larger one 10ftlbs to 80ftlbs as with the larger numbers you can feel if you go too far! or in the case of axles, run out of energy
DkD
The first one seems to be the best... Funny enough just brought the third one and it's too big on the torque range to do a basic oil sump (20nm) so no good for that but a solid piece of equipment. Have now ordered the 2nd one on your list.. Had I known, would have gone with the toolstoday wrench.
