petcock issue on dt 175

I just picked up a 1981 DT 175. I haven't got it running yet. Cleaned out the old gas and freed up the slide in the carb. The carb looked pretty clean. Compression was 120. The petcock was pretty cruddy. I ordered a new one. I assume this is gravity fed on this bike. thenks
