Hi

I just removed my brake and cleaned it up took pads out etc and drained the old dot 4.

Now i have pumped new dot 4 and there is no brake action just a limp brake lever with no resistance and brakes which don't work

This is the front brakes i have not got to the back brake.

you should not need to have it dry.

try pulling the brakes lever back when opening the bleed screw, zip tie it back , retighten the bleed screw and leave overnight.

that should get some fluid into the MC.

similar problem on the XJ600 and on the classic mini which i put down the the master cylinder seals collapsing, used a syringe to reverse bleed the lines from the nipple on the caliper up to the master cylinder and reinflating the seals

Ok so i will try leave the brakes pulled in to flood the brakes overnight.

I drained all the dot 4 fluid. It probably will take that to refill the brakes with dot 4 fluid.

I would love to use your method of filling from the nipple to the reservoir but i do not have a syringe tool for the job.

get some help

a mate doing the nipple and tube in a jar bit

pull the lever gently until thes resistance and keep gentle pressure on

mate undoes the nipple, the lever pulls to the handlebar...keep it there

mate tightens the nipple

let the lever out fully

REPEAT until no bubbles in tube...keep level topped up

what are mates for if not for playing with your nipples

cheers for tips airhead will give that a shot in the morning. i tried doing exactly what you said even watched a couple videos on youtube on it but didn't feel any pressure from beginning to end.

I think my problem is that i dont have a hose pipe big enough for fitting to the nipple. I take it trying this is pointless without a hose pipe.

Will be down town tomorrow looking for a hose pipe.

this is what i use for reverse bleeding, purely because it was leftover from my model aircraft days, but worked a treat

Have just bleed it fully good 10 times. No bubbles what so ever. Still no pressure in the brake lever.

I don't think the drums are pushing against the disc at all as there is good bit of play in the brakes.

I have just taken brakes off and the disc and pads out and there is no movement in the drums at all. I did take the drums out is there something i could have done wrong?

Are the caliper pistons in contact with anything. If there is a gap between the piston and pad, pad and disc or both then there will be no pressure.

If the pads have taken the space up and thats it try pushing them back into the caliper. This should force fluid back up the line and get things going.

Oh and the pipe. Vital. Like having a bike with no petrol.

Happy days shes back online! after much back pain and patience

Used most methods posted but in the end it was sucking the pipe that scored the goal.

Atleast now i'm well educated for bleeding the rear brakes lol

MOT will be soon coming

Thanks for all the advice
