I have a yamaha r6 virgin mobile replica,a 2001 model

Just lately when I turn the engine of the trip mileage goes back to zero every time,can anyone help me?.

    Aye McCarthy" thay"l be an error code, do you have a manual, shows you how to press buttons , to see code, might need plugged in to diagnostic lap top.
