Stuhoughgb
Hi everyone I have just recently bought this bike with an intention to get it back up and running It was a complete basket case when I bought it and some of the parts are still missing , However I know for sure the ht coil is completely shot , As my bike is of the cdi type can I use any 6 VOLT Ac coil or must it be the specific type ???? If so any ideas where I could source one ? Thanks for reading Stu
wild foamy
Hi Stu, welcome to the forum!, please take a few moments to post a welcome note in the newbie section just so we can get to know you a little better. Congrats on buying a DT, i recently bought one as a restoration project, then i bought another one to strip for parts, if you have a haynes manual and a multimeter you should be able to test the resistance of your coil, as for sourcing one, yambits is good, as is ebay, alternatively i think i have a couple of spares kicking around
Stuhoughgb
Hi thanks for the help mate , I am quite new to this computer stuff and that , Yes I have measured the resistance , The actual internal pin that screws into the ht lead as just corroded away , I can not seem a way to open it as it is sealed as you probably no , I will try Yambits again as I have had a few things off them Does it have to be a specific type or any type ? Cheers mate Stu
wild foamy
not 100% sure but i cant see why you cant use any 6v coil aslong as the resistance ratings are the same as the DTs'
