flukemobile Posted November 3, 2012 Share Posted November 3, 2012 I am in the process of finalizing my decision on my 1st bike since my Penton 125 around 35 years ago. I was supposed to drive out and see and subsequently bring my new bike home this past week but hurricane Sandy changed my plans. I was hoping for some insights on the two bikes I have narrowed down to: 1979 XS750 Special with 40K mi 1981 XS650 Special II with 23K mi I wish to enjoy riding and just as important take care of and preserve a classic bike. Both are in great shape and riding condition and I like them both and are about the same price so it's a matter of just going with my gut but in case there is some words of wisdom from anyone I would appreciate the comments. The 1st chance I get this week one day I'm going to check them out in person one after the other so I have a good comparison. Thanks in advance.
