Grouch Posted October 30, 2012 Share Posted October 30, 2012 The front brake light switch on my bike has packed in now for the third time. Could there be a reason that is causing this to happen? I bought the replacements from eBay and they do seem a bit flimsy, but what else are they going to make them out of, apart from plastic? I'm sick of changing them now, but obviously it's my brake light so I can't not replace it. Surely it can't be normal to for it to keep breaking. Ditch the crap prone piece of sh*t and spend a few quid on banjo switches (fleabay search for "brake light banjo"), can get 'em for £10-15. They're sealed unit pressure switches made (usually) of stainless steel so they're true 'fit and forget' items, once you've gone down that path you'll wonder why you ever bothered with the normal ones. Its a plastic insert on a metal pin and it slips. Cheap shit, i fix it for the mot and it lasts long enough for the ticket. One of those banjo's is the way foreward or buy a gen one.
