GarnZ Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 I have just pulled the upper & lower triple trees off a 1998 Zeal and found the 19 ball bearing surfaces galled and coroded. Do they make Taper roller bearings for this model Zeal? RegardZ.
Moderator drewpy Posted October 27, 2012 Moderator Posted October 27, 2012 try and find out what the bike is based on. Yamaha usually use parts to interconnect with each other from the same time period. bearing factors are your friends
Sacha Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Ya, I found some parts for it on wemoto (http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/yamaha/fzx_250_zeal_b_d/91-99/), but no steering head bearings... no bearings at all actually.
Moderator Airhead Posted October 27, 2012 Moderator Posted October 27, 2012 Zeal isnt sold here in the UK, what you need to find is the inside and outside diameters of the two bearings then start asking sellers to check theirs, I imagine the bearings from many bikes will share the same dimensions
GarnZ Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 Thanks guys, as Drewpy and Airhead mentioned, I was able to order a set of tapered roller bearings for the Zeal. Evidently, they are used on other Yamaha models ... XS500 and TRX something! I will post the make and part number when they come in along with their "like" machine/s. RegardZ.
