Hi all

I recently purchased a pre diversion XJ600 that had been sitting in a garage for a while and it doesnt want to start. I've checked the electrics and I'm pretty sure that the ignitor unit needs replacing. I've been calling breakers yards and checking online but cant seem to find a replacement one.

USE the wanted section

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Are you getting spark?

have you a new battery?

the fuses are a weak spot and need stripping and cleaning

try those first and if your still convinced its the igniter, place your ad in the wanted section ( yes you have to pay)

Thanks for the advice gents.

The battery is fine but I'm not getting a spark. I did check the circuits with a multimeter and it does point to the ignitor unit.

The fuses seemed fine but maybe it would be worth stripping and cleaning. It would be a much cheaper and simpler fix than if it was the ignitor.

I'm assuming you mean the cdi unit? (black box behind left hand panel), you should be able to get a used one from a breaker

Yes, it is the CDI unit. I've called breakers in my area and they dont have one specific one I'm looking for. It's a TID 14-78 A

Do anyone have one going spare? I'll try the wanted section I reckon.

Thanks again.
