Hi,

This is my first post.

I have an old 50cc yamaha and i don't know what model the bike is.

My aim is to restore it, but first of all i'm trying to get a decent spark - so far i've only managed to get a weak spark!

The bike's side cover has "yamaha mini" on it, the tank has "yamaha 50" on it, the muffler has "50" on it too.

The frame and engine number is FT1-450150.

Anyway, i was hoping that someone out there would be able to recognise the model if i posted some images on my web site. The address is

http://www.progalleries.com.au/en/Album/Cover.asp?A=869923

Thanks

Andrew

What you've got there sure looks like a DT50 to me ;)

thanks for that, i thought it was a DT.

You wouldn't happen to know roughly what year it is?

Also, I would like to find a workshop manual that would cover it, can anyone suggest a book which would have a wiring diagram etc.

thanks

Judging by the graphics & the Twin-Shock swingarm, I'd say it's a 75-77 vintage?

I bet Haynes makes a manual for this bike......but you might have to order it.

Try a Google search for Haynes Shop Manuals ;)
